Diabetes & Bears

I attended the Magna Art Festival as a vendor.  I donated a 6″ bear for their prize drawing.  I was excited to learn that the person who won the bear LOVED my booth and so very badly wanted to win something from it. When I presented it to him, he was ecstatic!  I also learned that he lost both of his legs as a complication to diabetes.  He got infections that went into the bone.  If just for a moment, I was able to bring a smile to his face with this bear. I was grateful for that experience.

A dear friend asked if I could teach her how to chainsaw carve a gnome. The day we carved was her 66th birthday! She was a rock star and made the cutest gnome! People…if she can carve working side by side with me, anyone can carve! Happy Birthday Cristy!

I attended the Santaquin Art Festival and had such a fun time! I was asked to do a live chainsaw carving, which I was excited and nervous to do. It was a blast!  I donated the piece to their festival wide drawing…and the winner just happened to be a city council member! She loved the bear!

A local church group asked if I could do a short live carving for their activity days group of boys, and if I could also do a short whittling lesson. I was happy to do it! The carving went well, and the whittling part of the activity was successful…no blood! haha  We all had a good time!
