About Me

Hello! I’m Wendy

Chief Carving Officer

My carving journey started by accident in June 2020 when I whittled a tiny 3-inch bear at a Montana family reunion, eventually leading me to trade my bandaid-inducing whittling knives for a Mother’s Day chainsaw in 2021. Today, I operate five chainsaws for my business, perfectly visualizing shapes in 4D inside the wood despite having no traditional artistic training. My absolute favorite part of the process is putting the eyes on, as it feels like the characters finally come alive and thank me for rescuing them from the log. Every piece is handcrafted with immense love and attention—no two pieces are alike, making each carving truly one of a kind. While it is always incredibly hard to let them go, seeing these wooden friends find happy homes makes it all worth it!

Here’s my FAVORITE part about the carving process: putting the eyes on! It’s like they come alive and look back at me and say “oh thank you for finding me in that log! I was lost and stuck in there!” Sometimes the glue drips from the eye, and it’s like they’re crying cuz they’re so happy in finally see someone….me!
